TV Brackets

VESA Size of TV Brackets.

The majority of flat screen (LCD or Plasma) TV models are compatible with several TV Brackets that follow the standards set by VESA. The models will have the word VESA, which will then be followed by a number.

VESA is an acronym for “Video Electronics Standards Association” and it implies that the TV can be wall mounted. Number indicates a millimeter distance between mounting holes on the Wall Mount Bracket or the TV.

An example of this would be a VESA 75, which means that the four holes on the TV Brackets are separated by 75 mm, there are also some brackets that are rectangular in shape and will have a VESA number like 100/200, which indicates that on two sides of the rectangle the holes are separated by 100mm and on the other two by 200mm.

TV Brackets

To mount your TV using a TV Brackets, you’ll need to know which VESA standard it supports.

TV Brackets is screwed directly into these holes. The main support for the TV Brackets is mounted onto the wall. It is very important if you mounting your TV onto a plasterboard wall and make sure you are on one of the studs running behind.

Some TV’s today don’t follow the standard on VESA sizes, and may be in between most VESA available. The option you have are the Universal VESA TV Brackets, these cover all sizes between the VESA sizes. One other advantage with the Universal VESA TV Brackets is that they cover a range of screen sizes allowing you to change your TV in the future and not changing your bracket. Saving you those extra pounds!

If you are not confident on fitting your TV with TV Brackets, it is recommended that you pay that extra and get an installer to get this done for you. The VESA sizes are extremely helpful for them, knowing that the TV Brackets will guarantee to fit.

Of course, we know you have already made sure that your flat screen TV can be wall mounted by using TV Brackets, right? Now you can get the right brackets for your TV, you have no need to worry about your new TV falling from the wall.

Many TV Brackets are easy to adjust, meaning they are suitable for a wide range of flat screen TVs. So while you still have the option of getting one produced by your TV’s manufacturer – and often these look best – you aren’t always forced to buy their product, whatever the price.
