Looking to Purchase a New TV? Look Into the LED TVs

LED TV At A Glance.

If your old Plasma TV has finally given up and it’s time to look for a new set, you may find many new technological breakthroughs. If it’s been a while since you last looked into a TV, you may be confused by the different acronyms that refer to the types of TV sets. There are many types of TVs including LCD, Plasma, DLP and LED TVs. All the newer television sets are now digital ready without needing a converter box. Nowadays, you can find many different discount LCD TVs, but if you want the latest technology, look into the LED Televisions.

In LCD TVs, earlier models used fluorescent tubes as backlighting. As these tubes are on whenever the TV is on, it is difficult for them to display deep dark black colors that are needed for nice sharp pictures. At times this may be due to light leaks and at other times, it may be due to the limitation of fluorescent light. Fluorescent light has limitations on the number of colors that will show through the screen. This is likely because of the quality of fluorescent light and not because of the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), which can show unlimited colors. This is why fluorescent lighting limits the colors shown on a TV set, while LED lighting offers a higher range of colors.

There are two different ways LED lighting can be set up in a TV. One is to have the LED lights set along the edge of the TV screen and it is what is called an edge lit LED Television. The other way is to have them behind the screen in a setup called a backlit LED TV. You will be glad to know that, both of these LED technologies consume less energy than a fluorescent tube Plasma or LCD screen. The edgelit LED Televisions are cheaper and can also be very thin.

The back lit LED Television would give you better viewing pleasure if you are willing to pay a little more. If the sharpest darkest black colors are important to you, then you will want a back lit LED TV set.

If you don’t look around, you can end up paying up to two times as much for a LED backlit TV compared to a similar size Plasma or LCD TV. To find good LED TV deals, make sure you compare the prices and features at your local electronics store and also at the various online discount shopping websites.

You can find, read the details info and buy LED TVs from TOP Brands thru Amazon.com the reputable online store and you can get a substantial discount. You can always shop with confidence at Amazon.com, as they offer low prices, superior selection, and easy returns.
